POKOTABI / My Bar Sō
米酒場 「そう」
A cozy izakaya near Kamata Station, My Bar Sō pairs nationwide regional sake with fresh sashimi, crisp tempura, and thoughtful appetizers, serving both daytime set meals and evening drinks.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Take a seat at My Bar Sō near Kamata Station's east exit, and the first thing to catch your eye is the sake menu sourced from all across Japan. Bottles like Sanrensei from Shiga, Takachiyo from Niigata, and Ouroku from Shimane are available by the half-go glass (90 cc), allowing guests to sample widely or ask the owner for recommendations suited to their tastes. The hearty, carefully prepared otoshi appetizer served on arrival sets a welcoming tone for the pours to follow.
Seafood is the heart of the food menu, prepared simply to showcase fresh quality. Alongside platters of tuna and flounder, diners can order specialty treats like filefish paired with its rich liver or plump grilled fish. A seasonal tempura platter, fried cod milt or natto tempura, and dashi-rich rolled tamagoyaki round out the comforting hot plates.
Beyond evening gatherings, the kitchen serves daytime lunch sets such as sashimi, grilled fish, or miso-broth nabeyaki udon. Inside, the counter-led space offers an easygoing, comfortable rhythm for solo drinking. Savoring house-cured squid shiokara or saba heshiko (fermented mackerel) over a carefully chosen sake feels entirely at home here.
